What options are left to me if the banks reject my reduced payment plan?

I've written to the banks about reducing my credit card debt but some haven't replied (it has been 2 weeks) and those that have show no willingness to reduce the amount owed. What's my next move?

2 weeks is not long enough - the queues are probably getting longer).

Wait another two weeks and if they don't respond by then seek advice. The best places to start are the C.A.B, National Debtline or charitable or non-profit making organisations in your area. Avoid the firms advertising free services. Usually they are not.

The CAB will give you the correct forms if you haven't already got them and almost certainly good advice on submitting your debt management plan to the lender. Persevere.

You can also download the forms from us.

Before you submit your Debt Management Plan (D.M.P) we should allow us to do a free check all your  agreements on your loans and credit. You may be due some money back.
