Can I stop a debt collector harassing me on the phone?
I'm being pursued by Moorcroft for a debt which I completely dispute and my previous letters telling them I have no money have made no difference. They keep phoning up and it is my wife that answers the call. Can I stop them phoning?
If the phone calls are considered harassment a court can issue a financial penalty against them. We may be able to take a case on your behalf on a no win no fee basis depending on our estimate of the prospects of success. This is likely to be higher if the harassment is bothering members of your family or includes either excessive telephoning or using threats either to your home, your mobile phone or place of work.
We offer an anti-harassment package in which we instruct your creditors to write to us. If they fail to do so and continue to pressure you we may take them to court on your behalf. If we win you would be the main financial beneficiary of the claim.
