We can no longer afford our car repayments, what can we do?

My partner has lost his job and mine is possibly only temporary and we can't afford our car payments. We want to return the car as we can no longer afford to run and insure it. How can we do this?

You should contact the finance company and explain the problem to them. You should be able to end the contract but, unless the car can be re-sold for an amount more than or equal to the remainder of your payments, there will be an amount payable by you - which could be substantial.
