My friend purchased goods on her credit card for a woman she befriended. The woman is now stalling payment, what can my friend do to get the money she is owed?
My friend is owed £1,800 by a woman she befriended. She purchased goods for her on her personal credit card. The woman is stalling paying and has now said she has been to a Solicitor. I know this is not true and she is prolonging paying. My friend is paying the minimum payment on her credit card and the interest is building up. What can she do to get this woman to pay the money she owes? Unfortunately we have no proof the goods were purchased for her. We do however have a voicemail confirming she owes the money.
You should pursue a claim through the small claims Court and can expect to succeed. The Judge will hear both sides' versions and with the aid of the voicemail will decide in your friend's favour. We can appoint a lawyer to draft Court proceedings and provide a full advice letter for £250 + VAT. Please reply to this email if you would like to use this service.
