I have debts here in the UK and I am going back to South Africa. Will my credit rating there be affected?

I have a large amount of unsecured debt in this country (probably about £40,000). I've sold my house and am going back to South Africa. Will my credit rating there be affected?

I'm afraid that in this globalised computerised world it will come as no surprise that credit ratings are international.

It would be a fair bet that your credit rating will be significantly worse in South Africa as you haven't been on any electoral roll, have no bank account and no address in the last three years.

Before you go let us check your loan and credit agreements to see if you are due back any money from mis-worded loan agreements or mis-sold insurance on those agreements. It won't cost you anything unless we are successful on your behalf.
