A gardener has charged us more than agreed. Are we within our rights to refuse to pay until he gives us a breakdown?
A gardener has given us a bill for the work he did on our garden but it is £1,200 more than agreed (we did not get a written quote). He has just marked the £1,200 down as extras and will not give us a breakdown of why he has added this. Are we within our rights not to pay until he gives us a breakdown on what we are paying for?
You should pay the original agreed sum but refuse to pay the rest until a breakdown has been provided.
